Our Town Almanac is published by SK Products, LLC, a small business. Building and keeping a town guide current costs real money and real time: the website, the email service, the tools we use to electronically scour online resources, and the miles we drive to see things for ourselves.
Here’s the deal: value for value. We work hard to give your town something useful every day it’s online and every time the letter lands in your inbox. In return, we openly ask local businesses to sponsor it, so it can stay free for everyone else.
Where things stand: no sponsor spots are running yet. When they start, they will look and work exactly as described on this page.
What sponsors get
- A line in the newsletter or a featured spot on the website, always labeled “Sponsored.”
- A report after each issue showing how many people clicked their link.
What sponsors never get
- They never pick our stories, see them ahead of time, or approve them. Stories can’t be bought.
- They never change the A–Z order. Every directory list stays alphabetical. A featured spot sits in its own labeled box above the list, and the sponsor’s free listing stays in its usual place.
- They can’t hide or change anyone else’s listing.
- No “Best of,” no star ratings, no paid reviews.
What’s free forever
- A basic listing for every eligible local business, sponsor or not.
- Events on the calendar, celebrations, Hometown Heroes, club news, history, and the stories you send us.
What we won’t take
- Political ads. Not for any candidate, party or ballot question.
- Ads we think are misleading or unlawful.
