How to do it
- Pick a quiet time and a grown-up who remembers the square from years ago.
- Ask: Which stores were there? Where did you go on a Saturday? What did things cost?
- Write down their words, or record it with their OK.
- If they agree, send the memory to hello@ourtownalmanac.com. We print memories as memories, only with the speaker's OK.
Grown-ups’ part
Come along, keep it short and fun, and let the kids lead the looking and asking. You handle anything that involves calling, sending or sharing.
Think about it
If two people remember the same store differently, how could you find out which is right?
Safety and respect
Send photos or stories only with a parent's OK. We never print a child's last name, and no kids' faces or names without a parent's written OK.
