How to do it
- Go to Stone Bridge Park, 2010 Thornton Taylor Pkwy. (open 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., per the city).
- Find the barred door. Our tour says its plaque reads: "Many a person has looked through these bars."
- Our tour says the old jail ("calaboose") was at 114 W. Market St., and a restaurant is in the building today. Look at it from the sidewalk next time you're on the square.
Grown-ups’ part
Come along, keep it short and fun, and let the kids lead the looking and asking. You handle anything that involves calling, sending or sharing.
Think about it
Why do you think the town kept the door instead of throwing it away?
